The gunplay in Far Cry seems to have a bit more in common with Counter-Strike than, say, a World War 2-based shooter. During the mulitplayer competition, everyone spawned with a pretty nice selection of weapons - assault rifle, sniper rifle, knife, and a Desert Eagle-type pistol. The levels even in multiplayer are just as expansive as those in the single player maps, and while the game's tropical atmosphere is almost always prevalent, there are indoor sections of the game as well as installations and bases scattered around on the islands.
