Call of Duty:

Call of Duty is an exhilarating step toward where action games absolutely must continue to go. It's about the experience. It's about losing yourself in the heat of combat. It's about the seamless integration of scripting and believable AI (primitive as it may be). Most importantly, Call of Duty is about shooting hundreds upon hundreds of Germans in a single level. It's a sheer numbers game this one plays and it plays it damn well.
Hidden And Dangerous 2: "Grade B"

All weapons and munitions are also carried over into the robust multiplayer. Up to 32 players can enjoy Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Objective Missions. Unfortunately, there is no cooperative mode at this time, but a patch is supposed to be released in the coming months to add this.
After four long years for fans like me, Hidden & Dangerous 2 is finally here, carrying with it some of the same problems we saw with the original. Still, the atmosphere, graphics, scope, versatility and ultimately fun gameplay keeps the bad bits in check enough to keep you up long hours coming back for more. If you’re a WWII nerd but have seen enough of The History Channel, it’s not a bad buy.
Max Payne2: 83%

Max Payne 2 produces a great, no, an outstanding single player experience, but I have trouble recommending a game with so little game for like $40. If you buy it, you’re not going to be playing it two weeks from now, you’ll be selling it on eBay. I’m not sure you’ll be awash in regret or anything, but months later I’m still playing Warcraft 3 and I’m still playing Grand Theft Auto 3 like a year after I first finished it, and after 2 marathon days Max Payne 2 is already off the hard drive and onto the bookshelf. If that doesn’t bother you, then by all means, climb right on board, but I think a lot of gamers would feel a little shorted.
HALO 4/5:

I always enjoyed Halo on the Xbox and the experience is even better on the PC. While the single player mode is not up to par with other titles found on the PC, the multiplayer is simply outstanding. I have always played Unreal Tournament online, but now I find myself playing Halo more. I highly recommend that anybody with a slight interest in Halo pick the game up today because you won’t regret your purchase. Despite its obvious flaws, Halo still packs a punch for being a first person shooter designed for a console system.
HALO: 8.5/10

So it occurs to me that I never did answer my own question of whether or not the PC version is as good or entertaining as the console version. In a word… Yes. Better perhaps, but just because of the online capabilities. Just the right amount of story vs frenetic killing for my taste, well planned controls and relatively free of annoying hindrances.
One thing I didn’t speak of much is the sound. In my opinion, a good soundtrack builds mood without you realizing it’s there. Good effects sound natural and add to the story without overwhelming it. I believe Halo hit both of those marks with the soundtrack to this game. Good on bungee for making me notice that I didn’t notice the sound, and when I did notice it, it was to go “oooo good job on that one…”. That’s the way it should be, I think. I am excited at the prospect of Halo 2!
