Press report from EA:

The first title to launch under Activision's new epic, war-themed brand, Call of Duty has already received critical acclaim, earning "Editors' Choice" awards from PC Gamer magazine with a score of 93 and IGN.com with a rating of 9.3. Created by Infinity Ward, which is comprised of more than 20 individuals who developed Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, including all the production leads, the PC game is rated "T" (TEEN - blood and violence) by the ESRB and carries a suggested retail price of $49.99.
And here is a post wrap up release interview with our friends over at www.homelanfed.com
HomeLAN - What planned support for mods and mod authors will be made for Call of Duty?
Grant Collier - Infinity Ward has gone to extra lengths to make sure that Call of Duty is very mod friendly. All of the gameplay in our 4 main multiplayer modes has been opened up so that the modders will have access. This should allow folks to be able to invent new multiplayer modes. For example, Clifton Cline (a friend of the company) was able to come up with “Behind Enemy Lines” in just two days. Any of these modes that are well done, will be officially released in “point” patches or in add-ons. Additionally, we will be releasing the editing tools from time to time, starting off with the map editor in the next couple of days. So we should have our special “Mod” section of the game’s interface linked to some good stuff soon
