How does everyone feel about Tron 2.0

Now I've heard a TON of ups and downs about this game.

I've enjoyed the demo version, but it has ALOT of bugs that I don't like.

I feel that the Single Player version will be AWESOME, but I hope the story is really good.

What does everyone else think?

I've been reading a lot of reviews on this and doing some research. While I'm not eagerly anticipating it, I do think it will be a fun game and will give it a whirl.

They should remake the movie Tron. It would be so much better now.

I had that same thought about remaking tron.....

but this is when the movie "The Lawnmower Man" came out.

I say now the way digital special effects are....

Good Lord, it should just be a 2hour long UT-styled CTF with a bunch of people yelling "YOU BOTTER!"

I'm glad to see Tron coming out. Hope it's good.

Here's the deal. When the movie came out technology couldn't handle a game that was equivalent to the FX of the movie. The movie didn't even happen on Arpanet, but was on a Corporate LAN (ever see Collosus: The Forbin project 1968, and that came out as Arpanet was still getting hooked up - cough* cyberdyne/terminator *cough). It was still cool stuff (where do you thing William Gibson got his Black Ice idea from).

The computers of the day just couldn't handle a game that would do the movie justice. They came out with "cyber bugs" - little 2D X shaped spiders chase you down like Pac Man, light bikes - a 2d line drawing game (there weren't even sprites for the bikes), power cone - 2D blocks like breakout, and Tron tanks which was probably the best of them all (although, I must say as cheesey as light bikes was it was pretty addicting). A couple years later or more, they came out with Tron Disk which was really cool for the time. It was 2D, but was kinda skewed at an isometric angle and gave a false 3D perspective.

A friend of mine up at school built a 3D tank game in OpenGL (with Tron Tanks) about 3 years ago. That was pretty cool. I always thought about a 3D Tron game. I hope they have full size Recognizers you can fight and hijack. Maybe they'll have a little bit that'll float around and answer your questions, yes, no, yes, no. "Another mouth to feed". "Yes,yes, yes, yes"! :D

I downloaded the demo...the LightCycles are pretty cool...reminds me of when I ride mine :cool:
