I can't wait for the game to be released.
It looks incredible and plays incredible (just take my word for it)
There's some great screenies at IGN's Action Vault (http://actionvault.ign.com/features/specials/lucas03jediacad.shtml).
Now the only thing I do wanna complain about is that its very difficult to actually sever a limb in this version.
Now I used the Enyak_Mutilate.pk3 for dismembering heads and cutting bodies in half with the saber but currently it's not configured to work correctly with Jedi Academy. I wonder if Enyak will recode the .pk3 so it would work correctly with Jedi Academy.

DERP!
I forgot to include the release date which is
mid-september.
Leave it up to Turkish to give us firsthand info on a game months before it's released. :p
Doh! Just saw your post...ok, weeks. ;)

I will be attending a LAN (without a computer) today.
And the featured game is you guessed it.
I'll be reporting how the multiplayer is on this LAN-style.

Well everyone...
I had the pleasure to witness and play Jedi Academy at a LANing event yesterday and it was pretty good.
At first it took awhile to get the multiplayer crack just to work (which GameCopyWorld (www.gamecopyworld)helped provided. Now how the hell does GameCopyWorld have a crack for a game that isn't even out :p )
Anyways, the game rocked ... I fell in love with it right away as a viable multiplayer game.
But it did have a couple downfalls, as the night drew late (3am) stragglers started doing one on one tournament saber brawls. What we came up with is that "Saber-Staff" is very over powered and that using a single saber is almost useless, unless you have it on Strong-Saber-Style. It's almost impossible for a single (quick-styled, blue) saber wielder to defeat a person with 2 sabers or a saber-staff. Mind you no force powers were being used.
It was almost a shame to just have 1 saber because it was SO underpowered unless you were using Force Heal or Mind Trick. But Strong-Stance single saber was SO strong when it hit someone (taking usually 40-60 point of damage)
All and all the game was excellent and I can't wait for the full release.

Update:
4/5th of the way into Single Player game and it's getting HARDER.
(playing on Jedi Knight Mode)
First off there's a surprise level that lets you ride this awesome speeder.
Not only that you could attack with your saber on it.
5/6 of the level is all about riding that damned speeder, which is more difficult then you think. (or at least needs to be tweaked)
Best part about it was actually doing a boost jump, doing a slash, getting bullet-time, and jumping a canyon. Much kudos.
2nd
Rocket-packed, heavily armored, stormtroopers suckass. They are hard to hit and they take like 3-4 hits of even the strongest gun. AND are annoying as hell.
3rd
Trying to fight 5 Dark-Jedi on a narrow bridge is almost impossible to do. I had to run by'em and fight inside. (you get choked, drained, sabered)
4th
Boba Fett is a hard mofo :p

I managed to get my hands on a pre-release version of Jedi Academy as well. I assume the same version Turkish is testing. Here's some thoughts:
It's basically the same as JK2: Jedi Outcast as far as graphics and gameplay.
I do like the fact you can pick from a number of different character races and sexes. You can also customize their outfit and a custom lightsaber handle.
There are some cool new things in the game such as Jawas, Tuskan Raiders, and visits to other planets such as Hoth, Tatooine, Coruscant, etc.
In the prerelease, the cutscenes were skittish - they seemed to jump a lot and leave gaps in the conversation. Also, some of the voice work didn't match...Kyle Katarns voice on Luke Skywalker, etc. I can only hope they will fix these things for the public release.
It seems like a decent game so far...at best, it's better than JK2 Outcast, but there's nothing spectacularly different to make it a great game.
