View Full Version : BF Desktop shortcuts

This may have been posted here before. My apologies if it had. Im still new to the BF scene.

I hate the menus and start up movies in BF, so I have a group of shortcuts for the game. This allows me to just jump into one of my list of server favorites without any hassle.

On your desktop shortcut/icon to launch BattleField 1942, right click and go to properties.

In the target field put:

C:\Your path to BF1942\BF1942.exe +game DesertCombat +restart 1 +joinServer 66.98.160.70:14567

This would launch you right into the GA server when you click on the short cut. If the server is full, it will return to the menu (but with the DC mod loaded and skipping the annoying "Challenge everything" movie).

You can then copy and paste this shortcut and just modify the IP for each of your favorites. Remove the +joinServer 66.98.160.70:14567 to just launch the game.

Like that cool new mod Forgotten Hope. The one we should be running on our server. :)

After show & tell from The Stranger I have the BF Desktop shortcuts. It really does connect me right to the game.
