I've been following this as part of an enterprise project I'm scheming. It may come to nothing but it is Google... and could be THE browser in a few years.

Firefox has more worries than IE about this, IMO. People are quite loyal to their browsers (witness the decent percentage still using Netscape). Google is THE chief funder behind Firefox (by occupying their search space contractually through 2011 I believe). This new browser seems to do much and more that will feel very familiar to Firefox users. If successful, it will be another case where "fast follower" wins rather than being first to market.

Here's the explanation via McCloud comic: http://books.google.com/books?id=8UsqHohwwVYC&printsec=frontcover#PPA1,M1

Got it, and so far like it quite a bit. Too bad there is not a Linux version yet for my laptop...

Since this is all free & they do the job of some items, would Ad-Aware & such not be needed? (read the the McCloud comic)

This really sounds like something I would be able to use & like.
Good post Hort & thanks.

Loved the dog walker scenario, hehe.

Seems pretty straight-forward if rudimentary for starters.

I liked the part of the first EULA where they get exclusive rights to anything you use the browser for :p It's been retracted, but still Google ain't a billion-dollar company for nothin. Gonna stick with FF for now, but competition is usually a good thing.

I do like that this thing loads pages very quickly.

I like that it downloads porn.
