Id needs to get there act together and release this game on the 30th of september just like Valve and HL2.
I can't believe that there will only be a limited number of max player in a mulitplayer game :(
Also WHY did
Trent Reznor stop doing the music for Doom III?
I was all excited about it gettin the pants scared off me along with listening to some Trent...
That would have just made the game "THAT much better"
I've lost enthusiasm for all things Doom/Quake/iD related. They've been dropping the ball so much on these series.
More power to the UT/Half Life. :D

Except that HL2 isn't coming out on the 30th either. I was a bit skeptical when I heard rumors about slippage, but when the ever-optimistic EB drops their release date back to 11/19...

That's not true Salyavin
This blurb from Shacknews (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/27687) says that Valve is working on the 30th of sept as a release date and no further slippage has been announced.

Given how Valve handled the announcement and E3, I believe that they will meet their internal deadlines for a 9/30 release. However, I have a lot less faith in the publisher Vivendi/Sierra. I wouldn't put it past them to somehow screw it up. Remember Tribes 2? Or Arcanum? I would hope that they'd be more careful given that Half-Life 2 is by far the biggest thing this year, but I won't be at all surprised if it slips later into Q4.

Not jazzed about Doom3-- sure-- lots of video card crushing eye candy but it's still one narrow corridor after another shooting zombies.

I just completed Doom 2 yesterday, on Ultra-Violence, after 3 days of hard work. Yes... I still play that game. Gawd I suck. :p
Still, what I'm really looking forward to is HL2... watched some of the videos, it looks absolutely amazing. It also looks absolutely "new gfx card"... typical.
And they're gonna make the 9/30 release... they'd better *shakes fist at sky*
