So basically, what your saying is........
it's going to cost me more than $1000 to play the game that I'm seeing in the screenshots.....

The most interesting part was the reccomendation of a dual-core proc. Wonder if that's cause they bought the marketing hype, or cause the game is actually multithreaded.

pwned by teh internets.
It's up again... purely speculation but... yeah... I'd need a new rig either way.
Minimum Requirements
CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 6600/X800GTO (SM 2.0)
RAM: 768Mb/1Gb on Windows Vista
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 256k+
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP
Recommended Requirements
CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7800GTX/ATI X1800XT (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
RAM: 1.5Gb
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX10 with Windows Vista
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The above specs are simply speculation, but I've put in atleast a few hours researching to get the requirments down to how they are at the moment.

GameSpot update/interview regarding specs:
Clicky (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/crysis/news.html?page=1&sid=6154899&part=rss&tag=gs_pc&subj=6154899)
OK... since the card to really enjoy this game... and the OS for that matter... isn't available yet... what kind of timeline are we talking for this? Next summer?
If I can put off building a new rig to get Vista/DX10 and the horsepower for this, I will... (rather than building a more powerful rig now and upgrading).
Since Vista will require about 16 gig ram... :bash:

From what little I've read about DX 10, it's not so much about any new visual features as it is about optimizing existing ones. So it may run smoother on DX10, but only if you can get Vista's 3D desktop out of the memory buffers :D
Vista sounds like something that may, eventually actually improve gaming performance, but I'm guessing that's a few years out. Although I'm with ya on Crysis being worth a hardware upgrade for if needed. Guess we'll know more when we get a demo.
