Agreed.
Taking that second base on Medina Ridge was pretty bloody. Had a couple of good (sort of) coordinated attacks.
Protecting the weapons bunkers was alot of fun. :D

Lay a mine. Watch Mikey drive over it. Score.

Easy.

Playing and observing is the best way to "get better" Zinia.

Skills needed here are more a matter of observing and timing then anything else and LUCK..imo.

Using the weapons and vehicle counts alot too.
I keep using AA "tanks" when they aren't tanks at all..d'oh!

Good to see you finally made it, RZ. Some fun games (I had to split early - had to get up at 5AM).

There are a bunch of things to learn (weapons, vehicles, hookers), but you'll pick them up in time. :D Don't sweat the learning curve because every new update to DC has such drastic changes that everybody has to relearn the game. :lol:

Damn tk'ers yesterday was pretty brutal. Shooting our tanks and planes before we could take off so I couldn't resist and I killed 2 of them. Damn respawn time after a tk is looooooong.

I have been playing a lot on warmfuzzyland because it's always full and I get a rockin connection. But, they have a nazi style admin system that is quite kick-happy and I haven't played in a few days since being a kicking victim. I fully understand the want and need to boot tk'ers, however they have a system that pretty much boots for a simple single tk, on purpose or not. In my instance, I was on arty and someone moved in as the shells were falling, next thing I know, I'm out. I like the idea of having a real live admin that can actually think and not just simply act :D .

All in all I have been having a blast with you guys, and thanks to Pally and F7 for renewing my interest.

Dude, Warmfuzzy is a screwed up server for several reasons:

#1) Thier TK system is jacked up
#2) Thier server has baaaad lag spikes, which lead to TK, which see #1
#3) Thier admins are stupid. They kick you for "camping", for accidental TK's and anyone who is kicking thier asses
#4) Usually, the server is populated by a bunch of asses...


Ok, that brings up a point....actually, i'll make a new thread....

I saw patches posted on Planetbattlefield to use Road to Rome and Secret Weapons maps with DC. Any thought about using them? Also, what happened to Wake Island and Iwo Jima? I haven't seen them in weeks.

Yeah, had some fun last night. It was good to see Phan playing.
So what is the deal with Medina Ridge, we (coalition) captured base #2 just as opposition was re-capturing base #1. I spent the rest of the game trying to capture base #3 but it didn't seem like it ever would change. Were we supposed to let the opposition recapture #2 or was the cage around that flag for them?
It was confusing.

I'm pretty sure it was a glitch. I was on the opposition, and there was a cage around base 2. It seemed like neither team could capture any more bases after that, so the game degenerated into attrition and spawnkilling, since you could temporarily occupy an enemy base, but not really take it.

It was definitely a glitch. Since the bases have to be taken in order, it was locked. The opposition couldn't retake 2 because they already owned one. The allies couldn't take one because they owned two. There's no way to abandon a base and allow it to be retaken, so it became a stalemate. I don't know how it happened unless 1 and 2 were captured literally simultaneously. I wouldn't expect it could happen too frequently, but maybe it does. I've never seen it before though.

Tick-tock...how much more time is left before you're back Sal?It was supposed to be last Monday for the new DSL hookup, but apparantly there's still something not connected at the CO and it may be at full capacity. I'm supposed to hear by next Monday whether or not they can even make the connection. If not, I may need to go to cable broadband with <shudder> Comcast.

DANKYYYYYYYYYY - i will be back ...my PSU was messing everything UP - so far i have gone through 2 Asus P4S8X mobos ( #3 is on its way ) and 3 video cards - a 9700 , 9800 ATIs and a cheapy 16 bit pci card ( i have to get another 9800 non pro )...oh and a another Vantec 520w Alloy Stealth ( $120) ...give me a couple of weeks - i will BACK

My mouse bit the dust, and work bit my a$$, so I haven't been playing much, but when I have, it's mostly been Forgotten Hope.

I have mostly played on BF42 #2: 205.177.13.7:14567 and FHMod@Wolfgaming: 65.206.113.131:14567 because I get a decent ping there and the servers are reasonably full. They are both overrun with TKers and other sorts of knuckleheads, unfortunately. I like FH a lot, but I miss the better players on the GA server.

Perhaps, in some of your copious spare time, you might consider adding a column in the server table for mod types, or maybe even a distinctive icon for especially popular ones -- Like DC and FH, if it catches on. There seem to be a lot of interesting mods around (for games other than Bf1942 as well, the Red Orchestra mod looks cool enough to induce me to consider re-installing UT2K3). Most of the better mod servers have distinctive names, but the difference doesn't really jump out at you, unless you are looking for it.
