No fancy editing, no music. just a guy playing BF2 (and commentary, that is mostly not in English). Lots of cool features that have been referred to in a general way in previews are demonstrated. It looks very promising.

Is it me or did the game seem really choppy. Was it the video?
I dont know what I was expecting. I guess I thought i'd see a total revamp of Battlefield 1942 and to be totally blown away. I could hardly tell the difference between BF2 and BF1942.

The video was very compressed, I think, hence the choppiness.
It is still the same engine, just updated from BFV--it's not going to be like the difference between HL and HL2. I was very impressed, but I guess I was looking for different things. I saw dense vegetation, better physics, dense smoke, better explosion effects, destroyable objects, more complex texturing, iron sights, better animations and so on. Some of this was already introduced in BFV, but it is done better in BF2, from what I could see.

Ahh okay. I'm still getting the game. But as you mentioned, I was expecting the difference between HL and HL2. I didnt know it was the same engine.
Once again we get fooled by early cinematics and photoshopped pics that make the game look better than it actually will.

Once again we get fooled by early cinematics and photoshopped pics that make the game look better than it actually will. That's what I liked so much about this video--it was the first time I felt like I was really getting a sense of how the game was actually going to look and play. They did not show off much of the teamplay features though, which should be one of the biggets changes, if they come at all close to what has been advertised.
One feature that sounds like it's going to be really annoying is the "locked" content, which can only be "unlocked" by playing on a "ranked" (and poorly adminned, if they run true to form) EA server to advance in game rank. I suspect that either they will 86 this feature in a later patch, or else vanilla BF2 will abandon a lot of ground to mods that don't lock anything.
p.s. Demo rumoured to be out by the 15th:
Although not giving us a precise release date, EA has informed us that the demo will definitely be out before June 15. We hope to get confirmation on full content early next week.http://www.computerandvideogames.com/r/?page=http://www.computerandvideogames.com/news/news_story.php(que)id=119827

Hope this isn't DC with more lag. It looks pretty (DC with tighter graphics)..
Any tunnels or is that another last second patch. Any AA or will this be another "teamkill for the copter fest" (always looking at the bright side :D).

Looks like it has that 3D radar that BFV had, so thats always a plus.
