Need something to tell me accurate temp of power supply (ultra X connect 500 watt) other then:

speed fan
everest
ssandra
motherboard monitor

These utilities are giving very high reads while the power supply is actually cool to the touch. The numbers stated are just not possible.
Everything else is registering as normal. PCI diagnostic card reads the rest normal.

Future son-in-laws 'puter (yes, he knows stuff)

Any ideas?

Those programs are often wrong about the accurate temps.

I think the power supply has to have the ability to have it's temps checked. Most do not. There probably isn't a way to check it with standard utility programs.

Power supply isn't that critical, anyway(as far as temps). Just as long as the CPU and case temps are reasonable, you should be OK. Just run that power supply until it dies.

I used to have a probe from my Digital Doc near my PSU as that was the only way for me to get close temps. I never saw them run very high so I removed it.
