I'm having issues with my new cable. Although my ping is sub 30, the "Warning: Internet connection problems" pops up rears it's ugly head about every 3-5 seconds. It does the same thing with UT and I can't pinpoint the prob.

I'll get it worked out then I will have NO excuses why I'm dead. :)

Sounds like packet loss, Zinia. That is usually on the ISP side. New cabling MAY help it. But, usually it is because of the amount of hops your ISP is taking to get anyplace.

Call the ISP and complain. That is about the only thing you can do.

Also, go to www.speedguide.net or www.broadbandreports.com for good broadband tweaking advice. There is a little program called TCP Optimizer at one of those sites. It is non-invasive and will let you choose what you want to change and change it back if it doesn't help.

Thanks Ink for the info. Yeah, I was really looking forward to letting you guys pwn me last night, but after I dl'ed the new DC .38 alpha, I couldn't get the install to run. I would double-click or try to run the executable and all I get is a quick DOS/Command window that would pop up then disappear. Just for laughs, I tried launching it from the command prompt and obviously, it wouldn't run from there either. Any ideas?

P.S. Stealth, you were this close || to actually owning me in a game. :p

I ended up coming in later, and had a great time. Sorry I missed the early crowd.

P.S. Stealth, you were this close || to actually owning me in a game. :pSorry Play, the original DC client we had in our files section was corrupt. I just replaced it this morning and verified that it does install. Let us know if you're having any more problems.

w00t..just downloaded it again and it installed just fine. Thanks MM and Stealth for your quick response! :D

BTW, did anyone notice how fast the pipe is? Sheesh, I was actually maxing out my cable modem and I'm at 4Mb download. Yikes! :cool:
