There is a full review of HL2 in the latest PC Gamer. The reviewer is very impressed with the game. If it is half as good as he is claiming, we are in for a treat.
Getting close now... very close...
If I'm not mistaken it's gone gold. :)
Been playing some CS:Source a lot lately. Great game, looks sweet, but buggy. I think they still have some work to do with SOurce.

Vivendi has the finished product, but have not released a formal announcement about it going gold. I suspect that we will see something within the next few days. The unofficial release date still seems to be Nov. 1st. In the review, the guy says that he played the completed game from start to finish.

this has even brought ME out of hiding here...
CS: Source is definitely impressive... had SERIOUS buggy installation issues, but once resolved, it's great. I catch myself stopping in play just to look around and think, "wow, that looks gorgeous!"

The rumour mill is certainly swirling over this one. My guess is that we will see a formal announcement next week, with a early November release. The sixth file that was distrubuted via Steam last week is supposed to be the final one!
By the way, the HL2 review in PC Gamer is a MUST READ!

Gotta love this quote from the review:
"it raises the bar for interactive entertainment, and then uses the bar to club all other games into submission."

CS: Source is pretty awesome... have spent alot of time running around in empty servers so I can mess with objects in the environment! You shoot a tin can, it flys spinning away. Barrels can be knocked over and rolled around, etc. We should organize a CS game... anyone else get it yet?
BTW, it looks great also... :D

I got it--I only have the vaguest notion of how CS works however. I'm up for getting pwned a few times.

I will play if some 'reg' or semi-reg will tell me what to do...other than shoot the other team.
I got my butt handed to me in the beta. :) (and had fun too).

I played a bit of Condition Zero--that helped clarify things a lot. I tried out CS: Source on some random pub and found that I couldn't fire, at least not as long as there were any players in my sights. Maybe my pc isn't fast enough for it, I'm not sure.
