So there I was... checking out the FAQ's on GameFaqs.com for City of Heroes:

There is a FAQ that has some rankings (in the authors view) of different power sets. So I check out the powersets of each of my two highest level characters:

Ion Catalyst: Electric/Electric Blaster

The author ranks electric primary, electric secondary each 1/5. Where 1 is the lowest and 5 is the highest.

I got on to check out Nexis

Nexis Intersect: Dark Miasma he rates 1/6. Energy Blast 2/5.

Well it's good to know that it only gets easier from here.

Going on to my Alts:

The Drowned: Martial Arts/Dark Armor 1/6 and 1/4 respectively.

The Hurt Locker: Invulnerability/War Mace 4/4 and 1/7 respectively.

Haha, yep! Comparatively, you actually have one of the weakest blaster builds..in fact, all of your builds are the weakest power sets. Which is kinda why there's so much crying on the boards usually. It's not the fact that you can't be effective, it's the fact that the other power sets are overpowered.

Unfortunately, the huge bane of this game is the Alpha strike. With a good build, you should be able to take down a group of 10+ minions in about 5-10 seconds. Maybe use a few attacks to finish off the runners, and move on. This kind of renders tankers obsolete, as Scrappers have as good of defense plus the addition of the best melee power in the game. (spines/invul builds are the FotM)

Meh, there's a lot more that you can nitpick from the game, but he||...as long as you're having fun, that's all that matters. =)
