What kind of aircooling is best for this card?
I am going to be picking up some copper ramsinks but would like to know what everyone thinks is the best heatsink/ fan setup for the core.

HardOCP's forums (www.hardforum.com) are usually the best place for this kind of info: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=773087.

Since it's an ATI card, there may be some good info on the ABXZone forums (www.abxzone.com) as well. Decent site but most members are biased toward the same companies: Asus for mobos, OCZ for memory, ATI for video, etc.

Cheers,
Salyavin

I've had the 9800 Pro for over a year now. Stock cooling seems to be sufficient unless you plan on overclocking it.

Overclocking is the shiznit.

I get better performance out of my 9800Pro than a 9800xt. FAR better performance. But, I was using water.

Blow on it REAL hard, EH. :D

I hear Zalman's are good. Though, I though they had no memory cooling on it. You really get a lot better performance if you can cool the memory as well. Better than just the GPU, in fact.

The 9800Pro is still the best bang for the buck card out there right now. I almost got one as I usually buy one generation behind the leading edge. They're the cards that the current batch of games were developed on, they usually have more stable and optimized drivers, with good cooling they often overclock nicely, and best of all, they're cheaper. :) But the big jump in performance with the newest generation over the last tempted me too much so I'm saying goodbye to $350 for a 6800GT... if they ever actually ship the darn card.

Ink.. no, it doesn't have *heatsinks* for the ram.. but if you attach a fan to it.. because there is space between the heatsink the the ram, the air goes right over it. I OC'd the crap outta mine wit a Zalman on it. Was running I think 420/380.. and only stopped cause i chickened out. :p (Oh, and cause I haven't found an ATI overclocking utility for WinXP-64. So if anyone knows of one.. lemme know. )
