To help alleviate the crashing issues of late, we acquired a shiny new server today, with a newer version of Linux installed. There is apparently an issue with the version we were on.

SOOOOO, lets everyone get in and give this new box a trial run!

KILL INK! :naughty:

As in NOW or normal 5:30 - 6 pm time.

I've been "lost" all day long so far.

FYI: go to Servers or My Servers if you have set it up and click on GAs server. It will show you the IP. Or any IP of anygame you click on there. Mikey made it so :)

The server runs great for me and is helluva fun when the teams are even.

I'm told there are some issues with the remote command options and the like. I'd be willing to offer my semi-l337 linux skills if needed.

Welcome Xenos!!!

O - It's not a problem with Linux. It's a problem with the BFSM remote utility created by Kevin Lockitt at Black Bag Operations (http://www.blackbagops.com/bfutils.shtml). The Linux version daemon seems to be a bit buggy. We even had Kevin using our Red Hat 7.3 server as a testing ground so he could see the manager in action with a full server load. There was a bug with RedHat 7.3 and the utility, so Stealth got a RedHat 9.0 server now...but we still have some problems. :(

It's a really nice app tho, truly it is. It's just causing too many problems now though. When it's up and running, it eventually causes that crazy server lag we've been experiencing...and when it's down, it seems to be the time we need it most.

We're currently discussing some solutions and other options in the staff forums. Don't worry, things will be A-OK real soon now. ;)
