Ummm. Salma Hayek in Desparado....ummm.
This is a wonder of marketing genius. This movie was finished and has been sitting in the can since 1999. Now, Hayek has her Academy Award, Depp just released "Pirates" and of course Banderas. They held up the release for several years and now it will make a fortune. Genius.
Hayek in anything other than my bedroom sucks. :(
Should be a cool movie! :)

Johnny Depp is drop dead gorgeous.
When I watched "From Hell" I just wanted to eat'em up.
Didn't like Desperado. Thought they were biting John Woo's style by unloading 50,000 rounds of ammo without ever having to reload. The only difference between that and a John Woo movie is strings. Hopefully, with Depp in this one it will be better.

Is this movie directed by the same director of the epic "Spy Kids 3"?
I hope not.
That was the worst movie of all time - actually physically painfull to watch. I haven't seen Gigli or that Madonna beach movie yet tho.

It is typical of movie studios. They have nothing to lose by shelving the movie and bringing it out later as "new".
Besides the 1999 costs of making that movie pale to the 2003 costs.
The only ones who have any problems with this is the actors themselves.
Hard to have someone want your 1999 "looks" and have that same person see you as you are 4 years later.
Good thing they can be "freshened" without major surgery these days.

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT...
Copying John Woo's style?
NO NO NO NO...
You got it alllllll wrong mah brotha.
1st off : John Woo broke into the US scene much later after Robert Rodgriguez was already established as a director.
Robert Rodriguez studied under Quentin Taratino, John Woo studied under several different Korean directors and then incorporated the over the top violence of American Movies into a single style. John Woo's movies still have much of the Martial Arts - Style acrobatices, where Robert Rodriguez has more of a bar-room brawl type of theatrics.
In my opinion, these two are completely different styles of action directors, and both own in thier self accord.
Desperado was an epic film, and the 50,000 rounds fired without reloading is not true. In fact, Robert Rodriguez holds very dear the concept of timed weaponry : Meaning, that the action is built around the concept of limited rounds. Banderas reloading was part of the action sequence all throught Desperad0, even when he and a goon slid towards eath other pulling triggers on empty guns....(greats scene btw).
So....i beg to differ.
This movie is the third in a great series, and they ARE genius to wait unitl now to release it.
GG Rodriguez...and GL on the film.
/me will be in line to see it

Well if you feel that strongly about it, I guess I'll have to go check out the new one. Hopefully it's better than Desperado.
The trailer for this movie looked pretty good. Depp should add something, for sure.
