ANybody else notice the price of HL2 has gone up $10? Most new games lately had been dropped to $39.99 including pre-orders of HL2... now the sites I checked this morning all have it at $49.99.

If I remember correctly, EBGames was always $49.99 and Doom 3 was $54.99. :(

I don't know why anyone pre-orders high profile titles any more, considering that the week they're released all the brick-and-mortar stores always discount them as loss-leaders. It'll probably be $35-40, depending on how much they want you to come into the store instead of going somewhere else, and most will pricematch each other. If it's higher than $40 everywhere, there's probably a price-fixing relationship between Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry's, CompUSA, etc. in your area. :)
