The best way to describe this game:

HUGE potential waiting to be released by a design company who knows what they're doing.

The concept is great, the implementation was poor.

The game, graphically, was nice. It ran very smoothly on my 1 GHz 1 GB SDRAM GeForce4MX machine, even though the clip plane was down, but it didn't affect my gameplay at all.

The weapons were a little blah. Jumping between the 3 different outfits, or whatever you call them, there wasn't enough variation to make one appealing over the other. And having one unique weapon per outfit/race/whatever isn't enough.

The vehicles were nice, and it didn't take long to learn how to drive them. Dropping bombs from above was fun!

The teamwork to capture a base is very refreshing. Noone can possibly manage to take an entire continent all by themselves.

What SOE would need to do to get my monthly fee and to buy the game:

1) Vary the weaponry/vehicles a little bit more, especially between outfits/races/whatever. If I'm playing VS for a while, I don't want to switch to TR and find out that I can still drive a Harasser or pilot a Liberator.

2) Change the experience system so that you get points for DEFENDING a base. One of the problems I found with the game mechanics was that a group of squads would capture a base, then everyone would move to another one, leaving minimal defense. Why? PS rewards MUCH, MUCH more for capturing than they do for defending. At least that was my impression.

3) Change the models for the bases so they all look different, and not one cookie-cutter template. It was mad annoying to fight on a snow continent, only to capture the same exact base I captured on a jungle continent. CREATIVITY PEOPLE!

4) Change the friendly fire system so you only take half damage, so you aren't as vulnerable to those people who get bored and start shooting each other while waiting for the hack.

So, there you have it. Overall, the game has a solid base, for the most part, but it needs some major improvements before I can really say it's a game worth paying $50 and monthly for. Fun while it lasted, but I think I'll move on to BF1942 if anything.
