OK-- not exactly a computer problem but looking for experience. Any of you in an office that uses Voice Over IP for phones? I'm talkig 40 people or more on a sophisticated network.

I'm in a situation where we may need to lease the floor of an office tower and they are literally out of copper so our IT folks are exploring VOIP. My experience is limited and is ancient by today's standards... we can't bear bandwidth issues, etc.

Not expensive at all... in fact, the systems we are looking at to implement IP phones at the monastery all are coming in a bit less expensive for the IP phones versus the traditional ones. Give me a call, Horty, and I can fill you in.

Go to radio-shack and buy some phone cords?Wish it was that easy... the trouble is the trunk line to the tower (30 stories) cannot support any additional capacity. There is another chase below the street somewhere but the city planners can't find it and would charge us to tear up the street. GG's city engineers. :smirk:
