Putting the final touches on BFM8 v2.1. This will include the ability to watch and launch into VIETNAM servers. You will also have the ability to install custom vietnam maps with the greatest of ease.

I'm also working on a BFM8 server browser, that will list all servers running Battlefield. You will be able to filter through the list easier than you can with the in-game browser. Here is an early screenshot of the BFM8 browser:

Excellent job Phan! I'm not sure if you have heard about the GameSpy query port issue with BF:V yet, so I wanted to bring it to your attention. There is an issue with the UDP packets once a server reaches ~17 player slots filled. It causes some queries to only return the data for the ~17 players and in some cases it causes a timeout. I have also noticed an issue with the GA queries. For example the KrackHouse BF:V server was full yesterday, but the GA query page only showed 3 people in the server. When I tried to click on the server detail link it just sat there. I'll include some more information on the issue below...

Thanks Xenos. I was wondering what was causing that problem. It had me going for a while. :D

Glad to know it's not on our end.

Sorry I didn't catch you sooner :D I didn't want Phan pulling his hair out when he ran upon the issue.

That is good to know. I hadn't looked at any servers with over 17 players yet. Seems like the game is still new so there hadnt been any full servers.

It appears the BF:V protocol is different than the one BF1942 uses. Our issue is that the queries stop reading data after the packet reaches 2047 bytes. I'll let you guys know when I find some complete documentation on the new protocol. I'm only getting bits and pieces of it right now.

PS: MM, vB "Gold" is being released today ;)

Yeah I found that, but couldn't really make heads or tails of it.

What I do find is that I can query servers with less than 17 players just fine.
If there are any more players, then I get the server reply UDP packet on a different port than it originated from. My router picks this up as intrusion attempts since they are considered "unexpected" packets. Why the server does this, I'll never know.

I also found that you can send a small letter "s" to the port of 15690, but you get some weird info back like this:
