What joysticks do you use? I have personally had a CH-Fighterstick and a saitek cyborg. I need a new one to work with win2k. I've been really reluctant to buy a new one because the ones I've had in the past have problems I cant get over.
1. Centering. I have never had a good JS that would stay centered. they tend to 'float' a bit.
2. control layout. I have very limited use of my left index finger and thumb. Of course, JS are made for people who have working digits.
3. Weight. most JS aren't heave enough or have a good range of motion. some of the flightsticks have a good tactile responce but that's about it.
4. Force Feedback. sucks. it makes your joystick jiggle, taking you off course or messing up your aim.
What Joystick would you use or, if money were no object, buy?

If money was no object then it would be a CH 568 or a HOTAS all metal TM.
If money was a concern then a Cyborg 3D GOLD or the Evo when its out at the end of the month.

WOW- they say the HOTAS Cougar will run $300

It IS that expensive. If you add the rudder pedals, it's even more.
But, it is WELL worth it. NEVER a centering problem. NEVER any problem. And, that damned heavy steel JS feels soooooo perfect. It never moves around on your desk.
I have had my F22(Same thing as Cougar) for about 4 years now. In that time before I had it, I spent at least $300 in cheaper joysticks that would wear out after a month or two of heavy gaming. These suckers never wear out. There isn't a rubber band anywhere on them. All steel springs and gimbals.
Maybe I am laying it on a little strong......

Good price there.

I think that 240$ for a joystick is a bit much. Maybe after I've had the chance to get the feel of one as a demo. Then I might commit that kind of cash to a joystick.

I'll never get my commission that way. :ink:

Damn.
That's serious coin for a joystick. I'm too poor for that luxury.
My little Wingman works alright but the operator still dips his wing a little too close to the white caps. Then is when I need it bolted to my desk.

I'm too poor for it, too.
I just HAD to have it. Never any regrets. Damn good stick.

I've got another friend who had a much earlier version of that stick.. solid as a rock and required 10+ years of programing experience to get it to work. I am really looking into that. My fiance says that if I really want to buy that 'toy' I should. Cause she likes to see me happy. how bout them apples?!?

Yeah, NOW she says that. Once the 'IDOs' are done and she owns 1/2 (if not more) of everything you got THEN it's a different story!

Sorry, I can't disagree anymore. I've been married now for 9 months and 16 days, and I love every minute of it. I just wish my knees didn't get in the way of me marrying sooner. :)

pssssssst
9mo and 16 days does not a marriage make. You two are still honeymooning. Not to say that you guys weren't meant to be together.
Besides, Moorlan and Stealth have issues. :smirk:
