Here we go. The best custom map i have played so far is DC-TwinRivers. One of the most popular custom maps out.

I"m not sure how this should work, but you should download and install. If the admins like it, then you should add it to an officail up and coming Map Pack.

One thing: I've always prefered to put maps into the directories myself. I've never trusted executables to do the install for me. Why? In case it changes a file I'll need later on for another game. The second reason is obvious - it's an executable and can load anything anywhere on your system. If you have a logger program you should check any auto-install first before recommending it here.

Most of these levels consist of the level file itself. It is up to the end user to know where to put it...

That's what she said. :)

Ok, so we now have one suggestion. Not nearly enough for a map pack... keep 'em coming! Plus, we will need some more for our BRUP test on Saturday.

Does Umm Qasr Harbor work with DC 0.6? I'd be willing to try that one again.

Cheers,
Salyavin

Here are more suggestions as requested.

Quarry : http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/planetbattlefield/dcmaps/dcm_quarry.exe

Operation Razor Special Edition (i like this one) http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/planetbattlefield/dcmaps/bf145dc4/OpRazorSE.zip

Operation Razor Regular Edition (cool map 2) http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/planetbattlefield/dcmaps/bf145dc39/oprazor.zip

Operation SID 2 : http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/planetbattlefield/dcmaps/bf145dc39/sid.zip

Battle for Irbil : http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/planetbattlefield/dcmaps/bf145dc39/irbil.zip

These maps i downloaded a while back from : http://www.planetbattlefield.com/dcmaps/ and every single one seemed to play well. I have tried them all online and we could have a good time with these. There are 5, you want more? I have tried out about 15 and only these 5 and 3 others are worth playing. THe rest just suck ass...

Anyone try those out yet?I think we're going to try them out this weekend when we test Phan's BRUP tool for automatically downloading custom maps with BFM8.

We are putting a number of these maps up right now...

Anyone able to help test today?

I think most people are confused as to when we are going to test this, and how long this will go on. Maybe indicate a time frame.

I vote to have the custom maps on for a large part of the day so more people have chance to try this. This evening, put things back to normal since thats when most people get on to play.

What exactly will you need to test {this}?

We are testing the custom map download functionality of the new BFM8. Make sure you get the latest version here:
http://www.phanz.com/files/BFM8-Build-20.exe

You can always stay on top of the latest updates for this project here:

I DL'd BFM8's latest version and I get this error when I try to launch:

System Error &H8007007E (-2147024770) The specified module could not be found.

Did you place the zipdll and unzipdll in the system32 directory?

Anywhere in the sys32 in particular? Did I miss a readme somewhere?

Hort, try placing all of the .DLL's and .OCX into your windows\system32 directory. Thats the simple and quick fix.

If that doesnt work, then try this:
Go to Start -> Run -> and then type:

regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\MSCOMCTL.OCX

(and repeating the process for the bottom two)

regsvr32 C:\windows\system32\MSFLXGRD.OCX

regsvr32 C:\windows\system32\MSWINSCK.OCX

Have you had BFM8 before then maybe installed the new one into a different directory?

Hey Phan-

Tried all the above and got the same error... I did have an earlier install. I -think- I have uninstalled and deleted all the installs and will start again. PM me and give me a rundown on how to install- what path to install to, etc. and I'll try again.

Try this too:

regsvr32 C:\windows\system32\VBZip_control.ocx . Make sure youve moved it to c:\windows\system32, first.

Are we running custom maps full time now?

Do we have a message on the startup screen of where to get the Brup and custom map files?
