What is up, homies?
So apparently this non-UT game (those are my 2 categories of games: UT, and not UT) is fun.
I've been (master)debating whether or not to buy (or borrow) this game and check it out.
So, as obviously unbiased people, what do you guys think? Is it worth playing for a huge n00b like me?
I'd want to be able to play with UP folk, since we all know that all human intelligence is contained within that one group of people, but I'm not sure how often you guys play.
The last question is about equipment (no, not THAT equipment). Do I need to buy something to fly planes/choppers/pink elephants, or will my simple mouse do the trick? How bout system specs? I have an AthlonXP 1.5ghz with 512 RAM and an ATI 9600 Pro. Will that do or do I need a CPU upgrade?

Well, if you crave team-based gaming action, then you should definitely check this one out. Your system is fine. You will want a joystick for flying, but I would get into the game first. Ink and/or EH will prolly be running another "clinic" soon; they are very helpful. Also, you will want to be on Teamspeak.
All in all, playing this game has been the most fun I have had gaming in a long, long time.

I think it is definately worth it. Your rig will handle it fine.
And, I have discovered something the last few weeks.........
It is not the game itself.....It's who you play it with.
I am having the same fun as I did in the early UT days only because I am playing with almost exactly the same people.

Just make sure you get all the patches and the DesertCombat mod.
The game isnt as fast-paced (usually) as UT is...but it does take REAL teamwork and quite a bit of thinking if you are against a good team.
Having 8 people or so jump out of a Blackhawk and swoop down onto the enemy base is a rush.

*Delayed Reaction* Hey whatup Blackie! Glad to see that you could join us in the mad house. I'm sure we'll get a chance to get many free kills of you. As for the skull, sure they have a skull in BF. Just ask Mikey. He's quite familiar with it. :p

Closest thing to skull is mines, or F7's exp packs...
When you hit a mine, it is like when you lock your keys in the car... you see it at the last second, but still slam the door.
I got about 10 kills last night on the WW guys on the Gazala map...I just kept mining the mid-point, and they kept running em over. lol.

HEHE - :D Phanataz ....i never played Myst before ( it doesn't have enough run and gun action for me , i guess. ) :D....btw - i'm starting to think i play a bit too much online...right now i am living off of 2 and a half hours of sleep .....did i mention that i made it to BattleRank 10 - last night on Planetside ;) !!!!!!!!!
